METHODOLOGY
Born from early Turkish–Armenian dialogues in Boston in 2005–2006, the Imagine Center’s methodology blends analytic problem-solving, narrative mediation, and reflective practice. We create spaces for direct dialogue that confront the past, present, and future of conflict—helping participants transform relationships and envision shared futures.
Imagine’s approach emphasizes conflict transformation: moving beyond managing or resolving disputes to re-shaping the way communities understand and relate to one another. Participants learn to navigate difficult conversations, express vulnerability without confrontation, and develop joint strategies for peace.
Our work today builds on this foundation across four interconnected pillars:
- Peace & Conflict Education — Graduate certificates, trainings of trainers, and Schools of Conflict Transformation.
- Dialogues & Convening — Armenian-Azerbaijani, Armenian-Turkish, Georgian-Abkhazian-South Ossetian, Syrian, and other peace dialogues.
- Analysis & Public Diplomacy — Caucasus Edition: Journal of Conflict Transformation, policy roundtables, and strategy papers.
- Peace Innovation — Developing new vision, strategies, and facilitation methodologies for lasting transformation.
Together, these initiatives form a living practice that connects education, dialogue, and strategy to catalyze sustainable peace.
