Imagine's Methodology
Our methodology is based on the belief that solutions to future problems often can be found in the past, or more specifically in analyzing and understanding how the past is remembered by our societies and how it influences the present day relations with other societies. Imagine employes a combination of different conflict resolution methodologies, including confidence building, mediation, sustained dialogue and various trainings.

Imagine retreat and dialogue projects employ a unique methodology that combines analytical dialogue with outdoor teambuilding and living together in a remote area. This methodology provides the participants with an intense 24/7 experience where they have discussions and trainings and outdoor teambuilding experience, but also have to share the everyday routine of living together, including evening activities, cooking and housekeeping.

Sustained dialogue initiatives combine the theories of collective memory and conflict resolution. Differentiating between history and memory of history, the participants explore the salience of the latter to identify the construction and dynamics of interaction between identity groups in conflict. Their experience show that while the constant reconstruction of discourses and counter-discourses leads to polarization and confrontation, the very same discourses lead to reconciliation if approached critically and seen as a mean of conflict transformation.
